   What is leukemia?
Leukemia is cancer of the body’s blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system. Leukemia usually involves the white blood cells.There are many types of Leukemia. Some types of Leukemia are mostly common in Childrens. And other types are occured in Adults.Â
HISTORY OF LEUKEMIA.
Leukemia was first discovered 200 years ago. In 1811, Peter Cullen defined a case of splenitis acutus there was also unexplainable milky blood. Then in 1825 , Alfred Velpeau defined the leukemia associated symptoms, and also observed the pus in the blood vessels. In 1844 , Alfred Donné detected a maturation arrest of the white blood cells. Based on the microscopic accumulation of purulent leukocytes, John Bennett named the disease leucocythemia in 1845. Rudolf Virchow introduced the disease as leukämie in 1847. Henry Fuller was the first to perform a microscopic diagnose of a leukemic patient in 1846
What are the Symptoms of leukemia?
Well there are 4 types of Leukemia cancer they are:
- Acute myeloid
- Chronic myeloid
- Acute lymphocytic
- Chronic lymphocytic
The symptoms depend, in part, on what type of leukemia a patient has. However, common signs and symptoms include:
- Getting Tired easily. Very little energy in the body. Weakness
- Pale skin tone
- Fever.
- Easy bruising and bleeding. Severe Nosebleeds and Bleeding of Gums. Tiny red spots in the skin. Purplish patches in the skin.
- Bone or joint pain.
- Frequent infections.
- weight loss.
- Shortness of breath.
If a patient has Chronic form of leukemia the symptoms may not be noticeable in the early stages.
